Best Gaming Monitor for Xbox One X – Honest Reviews
1. Best 4k Monitor for Xbox One X – Viewsonic XG2700-4K
While choosing a monitor for a 4K console, there are a number of features you need to look for. Amazingly, Viewsonic XG2700-4K ticks almost all the boxes for a great price. An IPS panel, Adaptive refresh technology, Great color accuracy, A bevy of different customization options, Low response time. You get all this and more for just around $500 at the moment.
And since adaptive sync is finally available for Xbox One X, we had to choose a monitor with FreeSync. And luckily, ViewSonic XG2700-4K has that.
Also, FreeSync does not have the same limitations G-Sync has on inputs, and with that, ViewSonic rocks four USB 3 ports, an audio jack, three HDMI 2.0 connectors, a DisplayPort jack, and a mini-DisplayPort plug.
Having an IPS panel, Viewsonic XG2700-4K has great viewing angles of 178 degrees. Meaning, no matter where you look at it from, you will not notice a shift in colors on the screen.
Also, the color accuracy and the black-white separation is amazing. It has truly deep blacks and white levels are excellent. With 1000:1 contrast ratio, light, and dark separation works perfectly and makes it easier to spot enemies.
It also has a response time of 5ms, which is not the fastest on the market but still decent for a 4K IPS monitor. You will not notice any ghosting effects.
The only downside of this monitor is the design. In an age where frameless design monitors are the favorite, Viewsonic XG2700-4K just looks ugly. Its thick bezels make it look like an old, office display. Of course, you won’t notice this while staring at its glorious 4K screen.
2. Best Gaming Monitor for Xbox One X – ASUS VP28UQG
For around $350, you get a4K 28″ TN display with 1ms response time, FreeSync and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
It also has ASUS’ GamePlus features such as Crosshair, Timer, FPS Counter and Display Alignment.
60Hz refresh rate can be seen as a con but if you are buying a 4K display just for an Xbox One X, chances are you do not really want a refresh rate higher than 60Hz anyway since console gaming above 60 FPS is still a dream, let alone 4K console gaming.
Also, surprisingly, colors are extremely vivid and clear for a TN panel. Overall, for this price range, you cannot beat ASUS VP28UQG.
Previously I used to play on my 55″ TV but as I switched to this monitor, I loved this from day one. Its picture quality is amazing. This display is definitely not for PC gaming as it works best on Consoles like PS4 Pro and Xbox.
You won’t experience any flickers while playing and it’s worth every penny. This doesn’t support HDR but still best in the budget. It also supports FreeSync through HDMI which XBOX supports. Another good thing about this display is that you can mount in on the wall as it supports VESA based mounting.
Unfortunately, Asus doesn’t provide built-in speakers which you can plug-in from outside from 3.5mm audio output but provide 3 years Replacement warranty service.
