The game of poker is one that has won many people six figures and more; enough for them to quit their day job and go in on it permanently as a full-on career. We’re not saying everyone should do that, but we are saying, if you have an inclination towards the game and want to learn more, we have a few good strategies that will help you along the way as a beginner or even a pro. Although if you were a pro you would probably already know about all these strategies and could add tons more to the list as well.

So, for the sake of clarity, let’s just say, if you are a beginner and need some help keep reading.

When looking around for some of the best strategies for the game, (the idea is to win as many games as you can…) it can get a little overwhelming because of all the details, and you know what they say about ‘details’…

But the basic game of poker is nothing to be intimidated by. Even though some say that it is learned easier than mastered, learning it is the first step in the right direction, and learning the best strategies gets you a lot closer to winning.

Let’s Save You Some Time…and Money

Below are five of the best strategies you should keep in mind if you want to destroy a game and increase your bankroll, and we will keep it simple. Also, it’s very important to choose the write payment method. For example, Zimpler kasinot are an optimal variant for Finnish players.

Best Strategy #1: Pick the Good Ones and Leave the Bad Ones

When choosing a table to play on, look for the one with the weakest players. In any card game, for that matter. Whenever you have a choice of a few tables, make sure you’re the highest skilled player on the table or at least in the top 3 rankings. Otherwise your chances are quite weak. Go where the chances of you winning are highest.

How To Tell? Look for the table with at least one frequent limper i.e. the person who keeps betting the absolute minimum just so they can stay in the game.

Best Strategy #2: Play Aggressive from the Beginning

Hoarding your stash from the beginning is the wrong idea. Play a proper and solid game to win. It may sound scary, but we’ve done it and it works. If you want to triple your chips, this is the way to go, don’t be scared.

Only if you find that your chips are down and you’re getting much back, then play a survival tactic game till your in the clear again.

Best Strategy #3: Don’t Be Afraid to Fold

A good player in any game, known when to ‘fold’ and in poker it’s the same. When you think you are unable to put a better hand in, fold. There is nothing wrong with it. When you call too many times and using the wrong hands, its an easy way to lose.

Learning about odds gives you a better hand to play with. Knowing how to calculate your poker odds and pot odds is an important strategy that any player who knows the basics of the game, can implement.

This might sound complicated but once you get it, it will come naturally. Plus, there are tons of resources online, using charts and calculations, that go into detail. Let’s take an example:

When you bet on a horse or dog race for example and you read that the odds are 5:1, this would usually mean for every €1 you bet, you will get paid €5, so if you bet €10 you will get €50. But, and most importantly, the higher the odds, means your chances are a lot less at winning. So, if the odds are 100:1, forget even trying. This relationship is fundamental to the game of poker.

In poker it’s the same, if the odds are too large you risk losing. Pot odds that are offered are usually written in a similar manner 3:1 or 10:1 and so on. To win, your odds must be better than the odds of the pot or pot odds.

Best Strategy #5: Bluff Effectively and Not Constantly

Bluffing too much is not a good strategy. Instead let the hand you have at that moment, help you to decide whether it’s a good time to bluff or not. Professional poker players often use this strategy and call it a “semi-bluff”, the basic idea is to bluff with outs, such as a flush or straight draws and even two to the board.

If your keen on improving your playing strategies, you will need to practice and study the game constantly and try different moves out when playing with ‘play’ money. The more knowledge you have of the game the closer you get to be a winner every time!
